I paint in the abstract style, and I also paint people and things. I draw ~ I love to draw ~ in black and white and color. However, my greatest love is abstract painting.
The design of my abstract art is not predetermined but happens when I'm working at it, full of surprises, and suddenly it works and does what it is supposed to do. And then, that's great!
People love to criticize abstract art, perhaps because it's so hard to define. Abstract art focuses on the pure visual quality of the work. Colors and shapes do the talking. It's an emotional and aesthetic journey without relying on the shorthand of a representational object.
Throwing logic to the wind and pushing the limits of form to discover new meanings, my abstract art exudes a sense of freedom and joy for me.
The more fun I have, the better it gets and I play for keeps.
“Abstraction allows man to see with his mind what he cannot see physically with his eyes… Abstract art enables the artist to perceive beyond the tangible, to extract the infinite out of the finite. It is the emancipation of the mind. It is an exploration into unknown areas.” - Arshile Gorky
